The Chinese company has a system to detect employees who want to resign.

A company engaged in technology, Sangfor Technologies, has come under fire for being caught monitoring the activities of its employees.

The company based in Shenzhen, China, has implemented a system that can predict employees who want to resign.

The predictive data was obtained based on online activities carried out by employees while working in the office.

According to data analytics company Qichacha, Sangfor Technologies can monitor various activities, such as checking job recruitment sites and viewing e-mails containing sent applications.

Next, the system will create a ranking list containing the names of employees who have the highest potential for submitting a resignation letter.

Qichacha found that the company's system implemented at Sangfor Technologies was built directly.

In 2018, Sangfor Technologies filed a patent for a system to read employees' information to social media platforms, e-mail systems, and recruitment websites.

This case came to light after a former employee of Sangfor Technologies claimed to have been fired.

It also includes a screenshot of what appears to be a resignation analysis system implemented at Sangfor Technologies.

"My boss says he knows exactly what I'm doing during working hours," wrote the former Sangfor Technologies employee via a post on social media MaiMai.

Sangfor Technologies seems reluctant to respond to this case because it still has not issued an official statement.

Not only happened at Sangfor Technologies but a similar incident was also experienced by several former employees who worked in China.

It is still unclear how many companies in the Bamboo Curtain country are implementing the same system. However, there is a possibility if the number is not small.

This indication can be seen from the hashtag "never send a job application using the office WiFi," which was shared through the Weibo social media network.

As compiled by KompasTekno from Insider, Sunday (2/20/2022), this hashtag has received the attention of more than 1.3 million Weibo users.
