After Android devices, now testing WhatsApp's new voice-call interface is done on iPhone.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp beta version 22.5.0.70 app has a new interface when making voice calls. This redesign is rolling out to some WhatsApp beta testers.
In the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has also polished its interface when making group calls.
What's interesting is that WhatsApp recently launched a wave view for audio messages and is now planning to bring that wave to voice calls.
With this waveform, the user can determine who is talking during a call or who should not leave the microphone on.
WABetaInfo also says WhatsApp brings wallpapers for voice calls. WhatsApp attempts to redesign the interface in future updates to make it more concise and modern.
In the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, there are two panels with a typical WhatsApp wallpaper background.
The top panel displays the name or number, contact picture, and how long the call lasted in this interface. While on the bottom panel, there are speaker, video, mute and call mute buttons.
Not only that, but WhatsApp is also working on indicators for end-to-end encryption services that will be displayed when making voice calls. This ensures that user conversations are secure.
