Through the Exhibition 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the AMD semiconductor company announced the last line of processors (CPU) of the Ryzen 6000 series family for portable devices.
It is affirmed that the Ryzen 6000 series can offer faster performance for laptops with two combinations of cores/threads consisting of 6/12 and 8/16.
There are ten types of CPUs of the Ryzen 6000 series divided into two categories: the H series and the U series.
The Ryzen 6000 H-Series is specifically designed to support the needs of laptop play and productivity. While the U series Ryzen 6000 is dedicated to slim portable devices.
Both the H-Series H and Series U series rely on the last architecture of AMD, namely, Zen 3 RDNA 2.
In the manufacturing process, the Ryzen 6000 series is designed to take advantage of a manufacturing process of 6 nanometers (6nm) that can be packed more transistors in silicone.
As a result, the CPU is claimed with the name of the code "Rembrandt" to perform around 1.3 times faster than the Ryzen 5000 series (7nm).
AMD also includes Zen 3+ as the core of the Ryzen 6000 series. It is stated that this type of core can offer a more efficient power efficiency so that the CPU can use 30 per cent less energy for videoconferencing needs.
"We were still able to deliver up to 24 hours of the life of the battery in video playback, which is a great step forward from where we compare it with last year," said Dad Corporate Vice President David McAfee.
In terms of graphics, the Ryzen 6000 series is based on RDNA architecture 2. According to AMD, this type of architecture can execute almost most types of PC games in HD quality quite gently.
It is affirmed that the Ryzen 6000 series can play triple games to 70 per cent faster than competitors.
The chip integrates RAM DDR5 and peripheral support using PCIe 4.0 and USB4. AMD also embeds an AI noise cancellation function to drown the noise and is based on the Wi-Fi 6e connectivity of Qualcomm and MediaTek.
Among the ten types of AMD's latest CPUs of the Ryzen 6000 series, Ryzen 9 6980hx is one of the highest variants.
Ryzen 9 6980hx can offer a clock speed of 2.4 GHz (BOOST), cache L2 + L3 of 20 MB, and carries a TDP of more than 45 watts.
AMD announced 20 different types of processor versions. However, only ten types have been officially introduced to the public.
The Ryzen 6000 series is likely to present for the first time in several portable devices of ASUS, Dell, HP, Alienware, Lenovo and Razer that will be launched from February 2022.
